DSWD releases P87M for 4Ps beneficiaries in Bacolod

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) already released a total of P87 million in the cash cards of about 10, 569 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Bacolod City.

Pacita Tero, head of the City’s Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), said in the first week of March, DSWD released a total of P38 million and another P49 million in the following week.

She said the P38 million was part of the regular grants in the months of December 2019 and January 2020.

She added the P49 million was the emergency social amelioration grant to aid the 4Ps beneficiaries during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis.

Tero pointed out that in May, the 4Ps beneficiaries will receive their regular grants for the months of February and March 2020.

“On top of that, another P49 million will be released again by the DSWD as their emergency social amelioration grant for the month of May,” Tero said.

She said that the 4Ps beneficiaries are now secured during this crisis.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia also expressed his gratitude to the national government through the DSWD for the continued assistance to 4Ps beneficiaries.

“These emergency cash subsidies will surely help 4Ps families survive the difficult times we are all experiencing now, and provide a ‘shot in the arm’ for the local economy during this period of enhanced community quarantine,” Leonardia said.
