THE Election Registration Board (ERB) will conduct a hearing for new voter registrants of Bacolod City on October 18, 2021.
Bacolod City Election Officer lawyer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said Tuesday, October, 5, that this will be a five-day hearing to evaluate all of the documents submitted by the new registrants.
She said the ERB is composed of an election officer, a Department of Education (DepEd) schools superintendent, and a local civil registrar.
Trinio-Caña said they will evaluate at least 1,000 applicants per day whose application is covered from July 1 to September 30.
As of April 2021, Comelec-Bacolod records showed that there are 294,330 registered voters in the city.
Trinio-Caña said the voter registration will also resume on October 11 to 30.
She said voter registration will be held in malls and the University of St. La Salle (USLS)-Bacolod from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Comelec earlier held the voter registration at USLS-Bacolod where they recorded a total of 2,075 registrants.
Of the number, 1, 283 were new registrants and 455 were transfer registrants from various cities or municipalities in Negros Occidental.
