A RESIDENT of Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental ranked eighth in the Criminology Licensure Examination held in June this year by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Rigo Calvo Reas, 22, a native of Antipolo City, Rizal, got a rating of 88.35.

He graduated cum laude at Carlos Hilado State College of Fisheries in Binalbagan town in 2017. He is a scholar of the City Government of Himamaylan City.

In 2011, Reas stayed in Barangay Sara-et, Himamaylan City until 2017, as his mother's family is from the province.

Reas, in a phone interview with SunStar Bacolod on Sunday, said that he went to Calabarzon and worked as a security guard in a fast food chain for six months before taking the licensure exam.

He said he will be returning to Negros but he has yet to decide if he will immediately proceed with his application with the Philippine National Police (PNP).

"It is really my personal choice to take up criminology because I always wanted to be a policeman," Reas said.
