A FISHERMAN who went missing for a day was found dead at the waters of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental Thursday, July 12.
Lieutenant Senior Grade Jimmy Oliver Vingno, head of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station-Bacolod, identified the fatality as Judy Garinga, 62, of Sitio Manaulan, Barangay 4.
Vingno said Garinga went fishing on Wednesday. He probably fell on his boat due to the strong waves.
His boat in the middle of the sea was discovered by another fisherman who went fishing the following day. This prompted him to seek for assistance from the PCG.
Upon verification, PCG confirmed through the victim's family that the boat was owned by Garinga.
Personnel of PCG conducted a search operation until they retrieved Garinga's body on Thursday. (GYM)
