An estimated P149,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a drug bust operation by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) at Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Pta. Taytay, Bacolod City, early Friday, September 22.
The operation also led to the arrest of Rien Vic Gersabalino, 38, a resident of the said village.
Captain Joven Mogato, head of CDEU, said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.
Police recovered from Gersabalino’s possession five plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag containing suspected shabu, the P1,000 marked money, a coin purse, and P150 cash.
Mogato said the suspect, a fisherman who was identified as a street-level individual in Bacolod City, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.
The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. He will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
