A FISHERMAN was rescued after his boat capsized at the waters of Barangay Banago in Bacolod City early Saturday, November 10.
Lieutenant Lodovico Librilla Jr., head of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Bacolod, identified the victim as Wenny De Los Santos, 25, from Barangay Sum-ag.
Librilla said De Los Santos and his companion went fishing off Talisay City around 3 a.m. but their boat capsized after it was hit by big waves.
The styro box containing the fishes caught fell on the water and De Los Santos swam to get it but he got separated from his companion when the water went rough. His companion survived.
An MV FastCat, which was on its way to Iloilo City, saw and rescued him at 5:27 a.m. He was brought to Iloilo for a medical check-up. (GYM)
