BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya has warned the public against some individuals allegedly using his name by making reservations or orders in various restaurants in the city.
Gasataya said he received a call Tuesday afternoon (June 8) informing him if he has a reservation from one of the restaurants in the city good for 30 persons for the alleged meeting with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
He said the caller, who was using the number 09268828981, was making a call in various restaurants here using his name.
He added that when he verified it to his staff, he was informed that one of the cafes in Barangay Mansilingan also received a call from the same caller using his name for an alleged reservation good for 30 persons.
Gasataya stressed that his office did not make any reservations in restaurants in Bacolod.
The lawmaker said he is thankful that those restaurants also verified the call in his office. He immediately directed his staff to inform all the restaurants in Bacolod about the new modus or scam using his name.
“With our present situation, the pandemic, there are still some individuals who tried to sabotage the restaurants here. It’s a modus to destroy my name,” he said.
Gasataya reminded the public to be vigilant and report to his office if they encountered such modus.
