More than 20 San Carlos City government employees started making bread and pastries at the PESO Training Center, Brgy. 3, Sept. 12.

Said 5-day training facilitated by the Office for Human Resource Management (OHRM) runs from Sept. 11 to 15, aimed at enabling participants to gain the necessary knowledge in bread and pastry making for household use and as a source of extra income.

The different bread and pastries they should make throughout the training are soft rolls, cheese rolls, Spanish rolls, ube pandesal, mini ensaymada, French bread or pizza, brownies, and chocolate crinkles.

Trainer Rhodora Villaran from the Master Global Education & Livelihood Inc. also familiarized the participants with the different tools and ingredients and reminded them of the do’s and don’ts before, during, and after baking.

Project-in-Charge on Value Chain Commodities Raul de Arce of the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office thanked the local government for the timely opportunity since he’s been wanting to know how to make bread and pastries for a long time.

De Arce said the training is an added skill that he can use as a pastime, especially after he retires from the service and later on as a source of income. He also hoped to undergo cookery training.

Said training is one of the activities in line with the month-long celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service anniversary. (PR)
