THE Himamaylan City Government is intensifying its campaign against fixers in the different local and national agencies in the city.

Mayor Raymund Tongson on Sunday, February 5, said he met with the heads of national agencies and City Government department heads to remind them of their one-stop shop protocols.

"This means fast processing and the transacting public, especially the small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SMSEs) will not encounter delays and problems," Tongson said.

He added that owners of small businesses save money just to process their permits and licenses every year.

"I am reminding the department heads that he is not tolerating fixers and under-the-table deals," he said.

The mayor, however, did not confirm that there are fixers transacting permits and licenses at the Himamaylan City Hall.

"It's a general reminder to all government employees," he said, adding that he heard of such cases in other areas.

"I don't want it to happen in my city," Tongson said.

He said they are targeting to release the permits and licenses in three hours.

He said that the rule of his administration is "to help in every way business in Himamaylan."

“We are not here to add burden or ask money from them,” he said.

Tongson also said the public can report to the Mayor's Office if they encounter any problem when transacting with the City Government.
