Ilog town seals off hacienda for contact tracing

A SUGAR farm in Ilog town has been sealed off by authorities after finding out that a coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patient tagged as Bacolod Covid Patient #18 visited the area.

Dr. Bien Eli Nillos, municipal health officer, said the patient visited Hacienda Palma in Barangay Andulauan where he helped lift belongings with the three other persons who are now considered Covid probables.

The three were also on the vehicle driven by the patient, Nillos said.

He said swab samples had already been taken from the persons who were with the driver on May 29.

He added there were also persons in Kabankalan City who had direct contact with the patient.

Swab samples for RT-PCR test have been taken from them, Nillos said.

The 32-year-old patient from Barangay Bata, Bacolod City was a former driver of Board Member Valentin Alonso (6th district).

Alonso, his wife and five others have been tested negative for coronavirus.

A total of 38 houses and 46 families in Purok Pine Tree, Bacolod City have been locked down and swab tests were taken from 10 residents.

The patient and his common law wife were already moved to a quarantine facility.
