A WOUNDED policeman from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental who was linked to illegal drugs died Wednesday, September 26, after staying at the hospital for 15 days.

Inspector Lamberto Mirande, deputy city police chief, confirmed to SunStar Bacolod Thursday, September 27, the death of Senior Police Officer 2 (SPO2) Carlos Alob, 45.

Alob was shot by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle outside of his residence on September 11.

Alob was earlier tagged in illegal drugs after reports reached Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), about his alleged drug involvement when he was assigned at Sipalay City Police Station. But, the provincial office is still verifying the reports.

He was previously assigned as a drug operative at San Carlos City Police Station before he was transferred to Sipalay City.
