Inmate stabs co-detainee

AN INMATE was injured after he was stabbed by his co-detainee inside the Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Sunday, September 16.

Wounded was Jonathan Cuison, who is facing drug charges.

Inspector Lorelie Dimaculangan, deputy jail warden, said Cuison and suspect Rolando Aguinia had a heated argument when the victim allegedly threatened the latter to hurt him.

It prompted Aguinia to attack Cuison with a stick and stabbed him on his shoulder while they were making Christmas lanterns.

Aguinia's brother, Rico, tried to pacify them and sought help from the jail officers.

Cuison was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Dimaculangan said the suspect has been under their custody for three months now due to a murder case.

He said the suspect and his brother were immediately isolated from other inmates while the investigation is ongoing.

The deputy jail warden said the Aguinia brothers were transferred to another jail in Talisay City as part of the disciplinary sanction. (GYM)
