A DAY after an inmate escaped at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, he was captured on Friday at Barangay Mansilingan by authorities.

Inspector Lorelie Dimaculangan, deputy jail warden of Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) said on Friday, October 26, that 40-year-old Elvis Pescadilla was arrested at 11:30 a.m., 17 hours after he escaped from the hospital.

Personnel of Police Station 7 already turned over the escapee to the custody of MBDJ-Sica in Barangay Taculing.

On October 24, Pescadilla was brought to the hospital after he felt weak and ill when he refused to eat for three days.

However, he escaped the following day when the jail officer assigned to guard him went to the comfort room.

Pescadilla who was wearing a yellow shirt and was still handcuffed passed through the emergency exit door of the hospital.

He is under the custody of MBDJ-Sica since 2016 for charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. (GYM)
