NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson explained his absence during the meeting of the mayors belonging to both the United Negros Alliance and Love Negros.

"Actually, I was asked to join there, but I was in Hinoba-an for the culmination of their fiesta. I was also in La Carlota earlier," Lacson said.

"I was also asked by Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer to do the oath of new recruits, but I have to go to Hinoba-an," Lacson explained.

The meeting of Love Negros and UneGa mayors happened on Sunday, April 30, during the culmination of the Pasalamat Festival in La Carlota City.

Pulupandan Vice Mayor Anthony Gerard Suantengco took his oath to UneGa during the said meeting, which was led by Ferrer and Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

"You know it shows how they value the coalition. There's really a very strong coalition that they have even invited a Love Negros to do the oath taking and I have done that before. It's a very positive gesture," Lacson added.*
