Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is hoping the province will get this year's Seal of Good Local Governance award.

"It is very tight, and we have up to Wednesday (October 4) to submit documents; if we can submit that, we cross our fingers," Lacson said.

“On the whole, we did well. Based on the validators’ feedback, they were positive only in financial matters. If we can submit documents on the utilization of funds, we are hopeful,” Lacson added.

SGLG is an award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program for all local government units (LGUs) and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve performance in upholding the practice of transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.*
