

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he will deliver his state of the province address a week after the State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Marcos is set to deliver his Sona on July 24.
Lacson said the department heads are now collating their reports to be incorporated into his Sopa.
The governor said the priority project of his administration for this year is the Bulk Water Project which will benefit six local government units.
He said that at least five companies are expected to attend the investors' forum for the bulk water project of the provincial government set on August 9.
Lacson said the P1.2 billion project is a priority of his administration aimed at providing clean and potable drinking water for Negrenses.
The five companies that have expressed interest to invest in the bulk water project are Aboitiz InfraCapital, Suez Water Technologies, Manila Water, San Miguel Corp., and Genesis Water Technologies.
The provincial government is proposing a joint venture agreement with a private investor to fund the P1.2 billion project while the province would allocate P100 million and water rights for the two rivers as main sources.
The bulk water supply project is eyeing to utilize surface water from two major rivers, Malogo and Imbang.
It is targeted to serve the needs of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, and Victorias cities, and EB Magalona and Manapla.*
