LTO-Bacolod on lockdown

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bacolod City has been put on lockdown effective July 28 after a resident of Victorias City who visited the agency tested positive for coronavirus.

Engr. Lenard Tabaldo, LTO regional director, in a letter sent to Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, said he was informed by the Victorias City Government that one of its residents was tested positive for the virus.

Ordered closed were the Bacolod City District Office, Negros Occidental Licensing Office and the Provincial Law Enforcement Unit.

Tabaldo also mandated all personnel of the agency to undergo a 14-day mandatory home quarantine.

He requested the Bacolod City Government through Familiaran to conduct swab testing of all LTO personnel in Bacolod City.

This is in compliance with protocols set by the national Inter-Agency Task Force, Tabaldo added.

Susan Guara, head of the LTO Licensing Department, said it was Victorias City Mayor Frederick Palanca who informed their regional office that based on their contact tracing, a locally stranded individual (LSI) visited the LTO compound in Bacolod City on July 16 and 17 to process his driver's license.

Guara said normal operations of their agency will resume after results of the swab test come out and disinfection of the premises is finished.
