Launching of 'Oplan Clean Riders' in Bacolod set

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) will also join the simultaneous launching of “Oplan Clean Riders” of the Philippine National Police (PNP) nationwide Wednesday, August 1.

Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, public information officer of BCPO, said Tuesday, July 31, the purpose of the activity is to address the crimes perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects and to address motornapping incidents.

The activity aims for clean, safe, and secured riders, he added.

Gabana said individuals who own motorcycles are urged to register and fill out an application form in police stations under their area of jurisdiction.

They must also submit requirements such as official receipt, licenses, and other documents needed for compliance so that they can get two stickers that will automatically make them a force multiplier that can reinforce or augment the BCPO in their campaign against criminalities, Gabana said.

Gabana added the first 700 motorcycle riders that have comply with all the requirements will be given free two stickers each while late registrants will have to buy two stickers for P35 each.

A clean rider sticker is a serialized sticker issued by the PNP to motorcycle rider whose documents is thoroughly inspected and validated.

“The registration is open to all motorcycle riders and enthusiasts, including those working in the government,” Gabana said.

About 700 motorcycle riders are expected to join the launching in the city.

A motorcade will start from the Bacolod public plaza at 6:30 a.m. towards the Bacolod Government Center, where a program and registration will be held to be led by Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, BCPO acting director.

The same program will also be held at Manuel Y. Torres Sports Center in Barangay Balingasag, Bago City to be led by Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of Nocppo.
