THE Bacolod City Local Market Committee (LMC) already raffled the 57 stalls at the Libertad Public Market Annex Building and they will hold another raffle for the 34 available stalls, City Administrator Atty. Pacifico Maghari III said Friday, June 9.

Maghari said of the 91 stalls, they successfully raffled the 57 stalls on Thursday, June 8, but it was not completed since some of the vendors who are included in the master list failed to submit their identification cards and some documents.

He said at least 287 vendors were included in the master list, but some of them failed to submit the requirements so they were not allowed to join the raffle.

“We will schedule another raffle for those who were not able to join the raffle on Thursday and we will hold a meeting with Councilor Celia Flor next week to finalize the date of the next raffle,” he added.

Maghari noted that at least 70 vendors failed to submit their documents such as the certificate of residency and government identification (ID) cards.

If the vendors fail to present a certificate of residency or ID, Maghari said they will not be allowed to join the raffle and will be disqualified.

“We need to ensure that all of them are residents of Bacolod City, so they need to present their documents,” he said.

The LMC also assured that those who will not be accommodated will be given a space for a night market near the Libertad Public Market that may start at 6 p.m.

“Those who are included in the master list, but failed to get a stall, will be given a space in the night market. Only those who are included in the master list will be accommodated in the night market,” Maghari said.

He said they are still finalizing the location for the night market.

Moreover, Maghari said that those who availed of the stalls will be given one week to transfer their products and the City Legal Office will remove all the stalls outside the Libertad Public Market.

“They will be given enough time to transfer their products so that we can also clear the road in the area,” he said.*
