THE Bacolod City Local Market Committee (LMC) will raffle at least 90 stalls only at the Libertad Public Market Annex Building on Thursday, June 8, City Administrator Atty. Pacifico Maghari III said Tuesday, June 6.

Maghari said about 24 stalls were already occupied by the vendors in the area and only 90 stalls are available which will be subjected for a raffle at the first floor of the market.

He said at least 287 vendors will be included in the raffle and those who will not be accommodated will be given a space for a night market near the Libertad Public Market that may start at 6 p.m.

Maghari noted that the night market committee is still finalizing the location for the market vendors.

“Possibly, it’s also near the Libertad Public Market, we will finalize the details this week,” he said.

He added that they will also ask the cooperation of the vendors who will not be accommodated not to occupy the roads to avoid sanction and penalties.

“Once they go back on the streets, they will be considered as illegal vendors and the city will penalize them,” Maghari said.

Maghari disclosed that the LMC will submit its proposal to the night market committee for the possible location of the night market to accommodate the vendors.*
