LAND Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairperson Martin Delgra III ordered LTFRB-Western Visayas director Richard Osmeña to ensure there will no corruption in the agency.

Delgra, who led the inauguration of the LTFRB satellite office at Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City yesterday, October 26, said that in the previous years, there were corruption issues in LTFRB and he doesn’t want it to happen again in Bacolod City and Western Visayas.

“President Rodrigo Duterte has been very strong in the campaign against corruption. When I came into the office, the President told me that my agency is corrupt,” he said.

Delgra admitted that corruption still continued but they were able to decrease the corruption incidents in the agency.

He said he earlier ordered the dismissal of two LTFRB personnel based in Regions 3 and 4 because of corruption charges and involvement in illegal drugs activity.

He said they have to act on “issues like these.”

Meanwhile, Delgra said that the opening of the new satellite office in Bacolod City is a welcome development that will serve not only the transport operators in Bacolod City but also the operators in Negros Occidental.

“When we able to engage the public transport operators then, it translates to better service to our ultimate and principal stakeholders which is the passengers because that is what we’re here for,” he said.

For his part, Osmeña said they will start to operate in Bacolod City on Monday.

“Another way of eradicating temptation of corruption, we have decided to implement a rotation basis of personnel here and I will be here every Thursday to Friday to sign the documents,” he said.
