Male helper nabbed for robbery

A MALE teenager was arrested after he robbed his employer with cash amounting to P325,000 on San Juan Street at Barangay 12, Bacolod City early Monday, May 14.

Police identified the suspect as Beny Ventura, 18, of Romblon.

Ventura was identified by Randy Caseres through a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage installed at their clothing store, police records showed.

Caseres discovered that his room was opened and the money was already missing around 2:35 a.m.

The follow-up investigation resulted in the apprehension of Ventura at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port around 4:45 a.m.

He attempted to escape but he was cornered by the policemen.

Police recovered from him the P322,950 in cash which was placed in his backpack.

He is detained at Police Station 1.

In Kabankalan City, some unidentified men attempted to rob a pawnshop at the public market of Barangay 1 Sunday, May 13.

Police records showed that the operator of the Central Security Alarm System and Services Co. reported to the police that somebody was trying to open the vault when the pawnshop’s siren alarmed.

Policemen responded to the area and found that the robbers tried to enter the pawnshop by creating a tunnel from a closed drainage in front of the establishment, going to the vault room.

The robbers failed to open the vault room but authorities recovered from the scene three crowbars, three screwdrivers, two flashlights, three pliers, a hydraulic jack, grinder, and would probably be used by the perpetrators. (GYM)
