Man killed by own brothers

A MAN who maltreated his live-in partner died after he was mauled by his two brothers in Purok GK Village, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City Saturday evening, November 7, 2020.

Police identified the fatality as Larry Bandico, 32, a resident of the said village.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said on Sunday Bandico, who was observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor, had hit his live-in partner several times around 8:45 p.m.

He said Bandico’s two younger brothers Wimar, 28, and Junmar, 20, tried to pacify the couple. Bandico then proceeded to take out a bladed weapon and attacked Wilmar but was unharmed.

Wilmar tried to grab the bladed weapon, but Bandico was hit on his neck and fell on the floor. Junmar immediately took a hardwood and hit the victim several times.

Bandico sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. His two brothers were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 9.

Pico said Bandico was also identified as a drug user and his family admitted that he was under the influence of illegal drugs when he maltreated his live-in partner.

Aside from his live-in partner, he said Bandico also used to hit his own mother and brothers every time he’s under the influence.

Pico said Bandico’s family is not willing to file charges against the two brothers and both of them will be released after the lapse of the 36-hour reglementary period.
