A MAN was arrested after he was caught destroying a car's window and stealing cash amounting to P15,000 at Villa Fe Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Monday night, June 11.
Senior Inspector John Adrian Real, head of Police Station 4, identified the suspect as Clifford Salaver, 27, of the said village.
Real said Salaver destroyed the window of the driver's seat of a Toyota Vios that was parked in front of a business establishment and carted away the cash but he was caught by the owner.
He was mobbed by the relatives of the owner and was brought to the police station.
Police recovered from him the stolen money and a screwdriver which he used in the crime.
Salaver is detained at the police station and will be facing robbery charges.
Real said they are checking the background of the suspect, if he is also responsible in previous “basag kotse” cases in the area of Police Station 4.
