A MAN and a teenager were found with multiple stab wounds near a sugarcane field at Purok Pili, Barangay 6 in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Friday, January 27.

Killed was Ervin Colorado, 22, while the identity of the 16-year-old boy was withheld by the police. Both were residents of Barangay Binicuil.

Nearby residents heard calls for help before the victims were found hours later.

Lieutenant Colonel John Joel Batusbatusan, city police chief, said the teenager, a Grade 9 student, succumbed to 26 stab wounds, while Colorado sustained 17 stab wounds.

Most of their injuries were at the back.

One of the victims was found covered with dried sugarcane leaves. The other one was found five meters away from him.

Batusbatusan said they believed the victims were killed in the area as traces of blood were found at the scene.

Police are looking at anger or revenge as the motive for the killing.

The victims, who were last seen alive with their friend, were said to be involved in theft cases in the village, police reported.

Police have already a person of interest behind the brutal killing of the two, as they continue to further investigate the case.
