THE municipality of Manapla is this year’s champion of the 2018 Panaad sa Negros Festival Rondalla Competition, both in Elementary and Open Categories, held at the Panaad Stadium, Tuesday.
In the Elementary Category, Manapla was represented by Hda. Sta. Rosalia Rondalla who won P25,000, the Pulupandan Children’s Rondalla representing the municipality of Pulupandan placed second and received P15,000, while Bacolod City represented by Andres Bonifacio Elementary School placed third and received P8,000 cash; all the winners received trophies.
A special award, Best Trainer, was won by Jasper Manguad.
In the Open Category, Manapla represented by Hda. Rosalia Rondalla won the first prize and received P20,000, Bacolod City Rondalla representing Bacolod City won the second prize and received P12,000, La Castellana National High School Rondalla Ensemble representing La Castellana won the third prize and received P8,000.
The Best Trainer Award in the Open Category was won by Jeremiah Ferla.
The groups were judged according to Musicianship, Musicality, and Deportation and Showmanship. (PR)
