Almost 1,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country are expected to join the MassKara & 67th Visayas Unity Ride, which roars off today, October 14, from the BREDCO Reclamation Area, Bacolod City.

“All big and small motorbike riders are welcome to join tomorrow’s Masskara & 67th Visayas Unity Ride. We are inviting all our fellow motorcycle enthusiasts to join our fun-filled ride and other festive activities. Registration is still open,” said Atty. Em Ocampo, chairman of this year’s event.

The Thunderbugs Bacolod Motorcycle Club, one of the oldest motorcycle clubs in the country founded in 1964, has been hosting this annual event since 2012 as the club’s contribution to the world-famous MassKara Festival of the City of Smiles. The event has attracted an average of 1,000 bikers attendees yearly.

Acacia Hotel at the BREDCO Reclamation Area, Bacolod City will be the venue for the activities, which include raffles for attractive prizes and displays of motorcycles, spare parts, accessories and decals, as well as riding safety gears and products regularly used by motorcycle riders.

The unity ride kicks off from the venue at 10:00 a.m. today for a ride to Bago City, where Mayor Nicholas Yulo will host the lunch.

At 2:00 PM, participants will return to Bacolod City for the viewing of displays at Acacia Hotel. Dinner will be served during the Fellowship Party in the evening, with a live band providing entertainment at the convention hall of Acacia Hotel.

Registration is still open until pre-ride at the venue tomorrow. The registration of P1,500 per rider includes free t-shirt, lunch, dinner, drinks, live band and raffle prizes.

Event Coordinator for the Masskara and 67th Visayas Unity Ride is Atty. Pinky Ocampo. The Thunderbugs Bacolod MC is headed by Manolet Lamata as Chairman, Felipe Garcia as Vice-Chairman and Lito Aves as President. (PR)
