Nearly P2M worth of suspected shabu seized in Bacolod, Victorias

NEARLY P2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate drug bust operations in the cities of Bacolod and Victorias yesterday, October 25.

The operations led to the arrests of Denmark Liscano alias "Denmark," 26, of Lopez Subdivision, Marijo Acuña, 37, of Yapquiña Subdivision, both at Barangay 3 in Victorias City; and Joelibert Sancho, 31, of Purok Tangigue in Barangay 1, Bacolod City.

Liscano, who is considered as a high value individual, and Acuña were arrested at about 4 p.m. yesterday at the latter's residence by the joint operatives of the Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit and Victorias City Police Station.

Some 26 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 200 grams and valued at P1.4 million were recovered from their possession upon their arrests, the police said.

The police also said that the two were arrested after one of them transacted with a poseur buyer to sell two sachets of the banned substance in exchange for P25,000.

In Bacolod City, about P523,000 worth of suspected shabu was also seized in a drug bust operation by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit at Purok Tangigue in Barangay 1 past 3 a.m. yesterday.

BCPO records showed Sancho was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from the suspect's possession 20 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 77 grams, a pouch, P250 cash, and the P1,000 marked money.

They added that Sancho is an identified high value individual who has been under surveillance for at least a month now.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the custodial facilities of Victorias City Police Station and Bacolod City Police Station 2.

They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
