NegOcc guv: Employees’ Christmas bonus automatic

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. assured the Capitol employees of their Christmas bonus.

"It's automatic. Sometimes, we want to give a bigger bonus but we should follow the parameters set by the Department of Budget and Management and other concerned government agencies because we do not want the employees to return the money if it will be disapproved," he said.

Last year, the Capitol employees received P50,000 each as an extra bonus.

Marañon allayed fears of some employees' apprehensions that they won't be able to receive any bonus after the province failed to get the Seal of Good Governance Award given by the Department of Interior and Local Government.

He said the province has received several awards which could also be a basis for the extra bonus.

Marañon cited that the recognition given by the DILG to the provincial government for its exemplary performance and in appreciation of its long-term contribution to the development of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

The said program promotes transparency, resiliency, socially-protectiveness, and competitiveness for the successful implementation and completion of PCF projects since 2010.
