NEGROS Occidental Acting Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said he is favor of placing the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) under the Office of the President.

Ferrer said that having the NDRRMC under the control of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. would further expedite decision-making and its operations during calamities.

Ferrer is also confident that Marcos is capable of handling the NDRRMC, just as he is currently holding the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The proposal to place the NDRRMC under the Office of the President surfaced during Marcos' visit in Tacloban City recently to lead the 9th anniversary commemoration of Super Typhoon Yolanda.*
