NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is backing the future political plans of the presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who leads Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP).
"I'm always in favor of an official who has a local government experience. And so for now, we also don't know what's the plan of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. I think it's more of trying to get enough support for 2019 so I have no problem of supporting an official with a local government experience,” Lacson said.
Lacson also explained that since he is a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), he is automatically a part of the political alliance between the NPC and HNP.
Recently, HNP forged a political alliance with major political groups in the country which includes NPC, Nacionalista Party and National Unity Party (NUP).
Meanwhile, on the confiscation of P72 million worth of drugs in San Carlos City recently, Lacson said it's a proof to those who said that campaign against illegal drugs is not given that much importance in San Carlos City.
He added it's not true that the local officials are not giving priority to the campaign against illegal drugs.
