NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson reminded all mayors that face-to-face "bulang" or cockfighting is prohibited.

"Only E-Sabong is legal, while face-to-face is not allowed," Lacson said.

Lacson made the reminder as he confirmed that face-to-face bulang had been noticed to be a spreader of the coronavirus.

Bulang has been observed to be a pastime entertainment and gambling in remote areas, especially that gamefowl breeding has become one of the biggest industries in the province next to sugar.

Lacson also made the reminder as four additional employees from the Provincial Government have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, bringing the total infected personnel to seven.

Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz said three of the cases belonged to the Provincial Administrator's Office, while one case came from the Provincial Health Office.

Diaz also revealed last week that two employees from his office also tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, along with one personnel from the Provincial Legal Office.

Diaz added that he also underwent reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing and his result came out negative.

The Provincial Administrator's Office has since reopened Monday morning after undergoing disinfection, while those who tested positive have been in isolation.
