NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has been on self-isolation since Thursday, January 20, 2022, although he was non-reactive based on the rapid antigen test result.
Provincial Administrator Ryafrando Diaz II said the governor will be on isolation for three days based on the doctor's recommendation.
Diaz said Lacson was observed having sore throat in his speeches during the distribution of relief assistance for the victims of Typhoon Odette in Hinoba-an and Cauayan towns earlier this week.
"He was given medication for a cough and we want him to rest because he has been doing long trips since Saturday until Wednesday," Diaz said.
The governor was in Kabankalan City on Sunday, January 16, and in Moises Padilla on Monday, January 17.
He was out of town, leaving early in the morning and late to arrive home so this is also a good time for the governor to rest after going double time in giving out assistance for typhoon victims, he said.
The governor has also been distributing assistance for the farmers from the Department of Agriculture, the provincial administrator added.
