NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government has expressed readiness to administer coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine booster shots in case the Department of Health (DOH) gives an order to do so.
Lacson said they are just waiting for the go signal from the agency.
He said they will concentrate on the distribution of Covid-19 booster shots to persons who have existing comorbidities and senior citizens.
The governor said the provincial government's priority now is still vaccinating more Negrenses against Covid-19.
Lacson said they have already gone directly to the barangay captains in the province to help in boosting the interests of the residents to get vaccinated.
"I'm also putting responsibility on them to create demand in their respective barangays," he added.
