THE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) headed by Provincial Director Police Colonel Romy Palgue, together with the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (Dipo)-Visayas represented by Acting Executive Officer Police Colonel Reynaldo Padulla, Talisay City Police Station and Yusay Foundation, conducted the Philippine National Police (PNP) Heart's Day Gift-Giving at the public plaza of Talisay City recently.

Noccpo, in a statement, said it embarked on such activity to express love and care to the people in celebration of Valentine's Day amid the prevailing pandemic affecting the communities.

Some 200 households from Barangay Zone 14A of the northern Negros Occidental city benefited from the project. They received pre-loved cloths, food packs, hygiene kits and vitamins.

The City Government, represented by Councilor Dan Tribaco, gave 10 sacks of rice, while the Yusay Foundation handed over vitamins.

Punong Barangay Oliver Casiano and Sangguniang Kabataan chairman Marcky Pelaez, also the head of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT), thanked Nocppo and stakeholders for staging the activity.

Palgue, for his part, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the people. He also thanked the partners for making the project possible.

"We'll continue to volt in laban sa krimen, to heal as one laban sa pandemya, at tuloy tayo sa Abanse Negrense. Kayo ang dahilan bakit tayo nandito ngayon," he added. (PR)
