AN ALLEGED notorious robber was injured after he was shot by an unidentified man at Hacienda Mercedez in Barangay Maao, Bago City in Negros Occidental Thursday night.
Wounded was Romeo Delos Reyez, a native of Murcia town but temporarily staying alone at the abandoned house owned by his cousin in the said village.
Senior Inspector Hercules Trigue Jr., deputy chief for administration of Bago City Police Station, said the victim was about to sleep past 9 p.m. when the assailant arrived and fired at him.
Then the gunman fled, probably armed with an improvised shotgun, Trigue said.
Delos Reyez sustained three gunshot wounds on his leg and stomach.
He was rushed by his cousin to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.
Trigue said Delos Reyez has been identified as a robber striking in the area of Maao village.
He has previous records for robbery at the police station and was even involved in a shooting incident before, Trigue added.
Police eyed revenge as the motive for the crime.
