ONLY one percent of the total personnel of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo) is not vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Noccpo Director Colonel Leo Pamittan, in a press conference Tuesday, January 18, said out of 2,378 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, 13 were not yet inoculated.

Pamittan said they are either with comorbidities, pregnant or lactating mothers.

As of January 17, 2022, there were 248 Nocppo personnel who were infected with Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic with two casualties, he said, adding that there are only three active cases.

In the entire Western Visayas, about 97 to 98 percent of the personnel of the Philippine National Police were already vaccinated.

As to the campaign against illegal drugs, about 139 personnel of Nocppo from the Drugs Enforcement Unit of various police stations and the provincial headquarters also underwent drug tests on Monday, January 17.

Pamittan said this is part of the instruction of PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos to conduct the drug test monthly in line with the cleansing program of the organization.
