Oisca–Ibaraki, DepEd, Bago to stage a musical show

THE Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (Oisca) Ibaraki Group of Japan in cooperation with the Department of Education Division of Bago City and Local Government of Bago will stage a harmonic musical rendition on August 24 at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in Bago City, 1 p.m.

Featuring 1,239 players of wind instruments from the four district schools, the musical show participated by school children is a tribute to the city’s Japanese partners who have been supportive in bringing music to the life of the learners and to the community as a whole.

Spearheaded by the Local Government of Bago headed by Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Vice Mayor Ramon Torres, together with the Division of Bago City Schools Division Superintendent Neri Anne Alibuyog and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Lynee Penaflor, the Ibaraki musical presentation on its 20th year is a milestone of creative music using the pianica, recorder, organ, castanets and flute instruments.

Orlando Cezar, Jr, chief of the School Governance and Operation Division (SGOD), has gathered the concerted effort of the participating schools in leading the said event.

Late mayor Manuel Torres, together with the retired Music and Arts supervisor Charisse Asencio, music teacher Ma. Theresa Gallego, and pianist Grace Soque, with the support of Oisca Negros chapter director Shigemi and Thelma Watanabe, were the pillars of the musical concert which started in 1998.

From then on, the musical concert has metamorphosed into a breakthrough of creative and ingenious annual performances. (PR)
