Over P48,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P48,600 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 8 in Purok Paloma, Barangay 16, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon, December 17.

The operation also led to the arrest of Sunday Villa, 51; Maria Evelynne Tibang, 45; and Ryan Juanillo, 38, all residents of Barangay 16.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 4 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects three sachets of shabu weighing seven grams, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a rape suspect was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 in Purok Badyang, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City Thursday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Rene Mata, 62, of Barangay Sum-ag.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for the crime of rape and acts of lasciviousness.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Isobel Barroso of Regional Trial Court, Malaybalay City with no bail recommended.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9.
