THE board and officials of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) committed to release the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) of all the hospitals in Western Visayas.
This was stressed by Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya on Tuesday, August 18, after the PhilHealth board and officials
assured them to release the IRM of the hospitals in the region.
"During our hearing on Monday, we were able to get the commitment of the PhilHealth board and officials in releasing the IRM of the hospitals in Western Visayas," he said.
Gasataya earlier asked the president of PhilHealth for the expedient settlement of the pending IRM of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) with PhilHealth.
Gasataya said the hospital informed him that a Memorandum of Agreement on the reimbursement of claims in the amount of P41,746,068 duly signed by representatives from the CLMMRH and the PhilHealth was accomplished on July 7, 2020. However, the hospital has yet to receive the IRM to date.
He said CLMMRH serves as the sole-end referral and premiere tertiary hospital that offers specialized medical care for the City of Bacolod and the entire Province of Negros Occidental.
"The board gave its approval on Monday, as well as the top officials of PhilHealth for the signature of PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Ricardo Morales," he added.
Gasataya noted that Western Visayas has a total of P1.8 billion for all the PhilHealth accredited hospitals both private and government.
The lawmaker said in some regions, PhilHealth already released the IRM of the hospitals.
He said as of July 30, only one hospital in Western Visayas availed the IRM.
Gasataya said that in these trying times, the CLMMRH has become paramount to the efforts of the province against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as the leading institution in the testing and treatment of Covid-19 patients.
