Police identify 'salisi' suspect in Bacolod mall

THE Police Station 8 in Bacolod City has identified the thief who stole the bag of a customer inside a shopping mall in Bacolod City last February 18.

Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, head of Police Station 8, confirmed this on February 20, but refused to divulge the suspect’s name yet.

On February 18, Mary Grace Salanap, 35, of Barangay Alijis, and her family were eating in a food court inside a shopping mall around 3 p.m. when she discovered that her bag was missing.

The bag contained three cellular phones worth P23,000, P10,000 in cash, jewelry worth P20,000, several identification cards, and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.

Based on the mall’s closed circuit television camera footage, the suspect, who was wearing a white shirt, took the bag while the family was taking pictures.

The suspect covered the item with a plastic bag to avoid attention.
