MANAPLA Municipal Police Station Chief Captain Jaynick Bermudez said Sunday, March 6, 2022, that investigation is still ongoing as to who left an improvised dynamite near the distillery plant of Victorias Milling Company (VMC) in Barangay Purisima in the northern Negros Occidental locality.

VMC, in a statement, said they have tightened their security following the incident.

“We seek the cooperation of residents and our employees to be on alert for people who are seemingly planning to stir violence in the area," it said.

On February 26, Gilbert Divinito, security officer of distillery, told police that one of their security guards found two bottles of improvised dynamite at a sugarcane plantation located around 500 meters away from the plant.

One of them, Jose Mario Doromal, said he was roving the area when he discovered the explosives past 8 a.m.
