THE city government of San Carlos through the City Planning and Development Office (CPDCO) facilitated the registration for the National ID by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Wednesday, March 17 at the City Auditorium.
The Philippine ID System of the PSA aimed to establish a single ID system for all citizens and resident aliens in the country for easier accessibility and application for eligibility to social welfare programs and benefits from the government.
Clark Anthony Bagacay, one of the San Carlos City Registration Center supervisors, said acquiring a National ID takes three steps that include pre-registration, taking of citizen’s biometric data including iris scan and photo-taking for data update, and release of the National ID.
He added that they cater to at least 765 applicants per day including walk-ins, but they give priority to those individuals who already underwent the pre-registration.
Individuals were advised to bring valid IDs upon registration. (PR)
