A SEPTUAGENARIAN woman did not survive the fire that razed her home at Purok Campilisan, Brgy. Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Tuesday night, January 17.
Killed was 74-year-old Marlyn Amblosa.
Police said the victim was seen by her neighbor lighting up her gas lamp which triggered the fire that burned her house down.
The elderly victim was heard yelling in pain.
The police report showed that prior to the incident, the victim informed her neighbor that her modified gas lamp was full of kerosene, then she went to sleep.
When she woke up hours later, she lit up the lamp.
Police said the neighbor asked for help to rescue the victim who was trapped inside the house, which was made of light materials, but they were too late. (MPE)
