Sexagenarian shot dead in Sagay

A SEXAGENARIAN was shot to death during a heated argument in Barangay Makiling, Sagay City late Sunday night, July 11, 2020.

Police identified the fatality as Eduardo Fernando Sr., 63, resident of the said place.

Based on information provided by the Sagay City Police Station, the gunman identified as Daniel "Boyet" Datolayta, 34, and his accomplice Vivencio "Vencio" Andrade, 44, arrived and a heated confrontation occurred.

Datolayta then allegedly pulled out an unidentified caliber firearm and shot Fernando in the right hip. The suspects immediately fled, while Fernando was rushed to the city's district hospital.

Fernando was then transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, but he later succumbed to his wounds.

Police are now conducting a manhunt operation against Datolayta and Andrade.
