Task force El Niño to start after Holy Week

EXECUTIVE Assistant Jose Maria Vargas, head of the cluster of Bacolod city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), said yesterday that the task force which composed by personnel personnel from DRRMO, City Agriculture Office, City Health Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Health Office, Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa), and Central Negros Electric Cooperative will start the study after the Holy Week.

He said he already met with the members of the task force last week.

“We will make our plans and recommendations to be submitted to the mayor after the Holy Week,” he added.

Vargas noted that it’s expected that El Nino will last until May or June.

Vargas disclosed that the task force will determine the affected areas in the 61 barangays so that they can come up with a plan to address the problem.
