Teen escapee recaptured

A DETAINEE of Toboso Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental was recaptured between the boundary of the town and Escalante City several minutes after he escaped early Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect as Jay Baynosa, 19, of Barangay Poblacion.

Baynosa was previously arrested in the town by virtue of an arrest warrant for theft issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 33 in Quezon City.

He escaped past 12 a.m. Tuesday after he was able to destroy the padlock of the custodial facility using an improvised wire.

Baynosa was supposed to go to his grandmother's house in Sagay City, but he was sighted by police along the road during the manhunt operation.

Meanwhile, some Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Talisay City underwent a random drug test and surprise inspection yesterday.

The inmates yielded negative for illegal drug use. (GYM)
