Killed was Leonard Deles, 13, of La Carlota City.

Two others were injured namely Hob Deles, 45, and a five-year-old girl.

According to town police chief Senior Inspector Ryan Salazar, the

family were on a family outing at a resort and took shelter at the cottage when a heavy downpour occurred at around 2:15 p.m.

Salazar said Leonard was playing a tablet when the lightning occurred.

The gadget probably attracted the lightning and hit him (Leonard) and two others who were near him, he added.
