UAP backs proposed action plan for Covid-19 in NegOcc, Bacolod

THE Architects of Negros Occidental under the United Architects of the Philippines Regional District C2 is backing the proposed Action Plan or Position Paper for coronavirus diesease (Covid-19) for Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

The action plan was presented by former board member Dr. Melvin Ibañez.

In a letter to Secretary Roy Cimatu, head of the National Task Force Covid-19, and copy furnished to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, UAP officials led by its District Director Architect Jico Monte said they would like to show support and offer their services for free in the name of Bayanihan.

"We would like to be part of the Multi-sectoral Advisory Council to assist, advice, strategize and offer recommendations to the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Executive Council," the UPA said.

Part of their recommendation will include the proposal of strategic locations, design, plans and supervision of the construction for Covid-19 facilities.

The recommendation includes to speedily build makeshift quarantine facilities, long-term 50 plus bed facility for moderate Covid-19 cases, a Covid-19 health center that will be fully equipped with a double setup for mild to severe cases with negative pressure and standard requirements and additional RT-PCR laboratories.

Ibañez last week submitted his proposed action plan to the City Government of Bacolod and the Provincial Government due to current surge of Covid-19 cases.

He is recommending to form a Unified Alliance for the City of Bacolod and the Provincial Government through Joint IATF Executive Council to solely formulate policy and procedures, plans and courses of action during this pandemic supported by SP resolutions; form a Multi-sectoral Advisory Council composed of representatives from the private sector to assist, advise, strategize and recommend to the JIATF Executive Council and probable declaration of Temporary State of Health Emergency in localized areas to cover all the necessary actions including health protocols to be taken to contain Covid-19.
