THE Land Transportation Office–Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has served a show cause order (SCO) to the driver of a vehicle who went viral on social media for rapidly leaving a fuel station without paying for fuel in Negros Occidental.
LTO-NIR, led by Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Director Jeck D. Conlu, together with the Intelligence and Investigation Unit (IIU), delivered the SCO to the residence of the registered vehicle owner in Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The order was received by a family member in her absence.
LTO-NIR personnel and officials later explained the content of the order via cellular phone.
No untoward incident occurred during the process.
The incident happened on February 27, 2026 in a gas station in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Police records revealed that the driver requested P500 worth of unleaded gasoline and fled toward Murcia Road without paying.
An LTO-NIR official said this action demonstrates the agency’s commitment, along with the IIU, to investigate viral incidents and ensure accountability. (MAP)
